I smell the chlorine filling the air. I hear voices louder than a herd of elephants. I taste the water flowing into my mouth. I feel the brick hard wall as I finish a length. I see people gliding threw the water. By Kaleb
SPLASH! I dive into the pool and start the 5 length warm up. It is term 4 and the school is doing swimming on the year 5 & 6 are at Tawa pool and years 0-4 are at Tawa school pool. I am on my 4th length of warmup when suddenly my goggles start leaking. "Rats!" I think, but I still finish the length before fixing them. "Now I would like you to do two lengths of stremline kick" My instructor yells. After those two simple lengths, we do four lengths of freestyle, two lengths of backstroke and two lengths of breaststroke or butterfly. (we had a choice) When we got out of the pool I felt tired and happy, because I finished my first school swimming! 15 mins after our lessons finished the bus arrives to pick us up. The first school swimming of the year was a blast and Tawa Pool is a great place to learn to survive! By Chelsea
Even though I can't swim very well I still enjoy being in the shimmering warm wavy water. When I blow bubbles form my mouth it makes me giggles Today I learnt basic movements like blowing bubbles underwater while my instructor Caroline counted 1 lolly, 2 lolly, 3 lolly and so on. I also learnt to place a pool noodle under my arm and blow bubbles through the space I had in front of me. Tomorrow I wish to learn the basic skills like kicking and managing to get my whole face underwater. I hope I learn how to swim like other people one day. By Jess
When I went to bed last night I kept on repeating one word in my head, and that was SWIMMING and luckily I dreamed about it to. In the morning the first thing I did was get my swimming bag out!
When we got to the pool every one sprinted into the changing rooms (well not really, let's say we walked!)
5mins later...
We were all ready for the pool. Then someone came along and told us all the rules "no running blah, blah, blah" When the rules were over and done with we got split in to groups and lanes. In the swimming lesson the teacher gave out orders "4 lengths freestyle", "OK", we answered. After the lesson we all walked into the changing room.
15 mins later....
Everyone was out except 2 people and 1 pair of socks! And back to school it was!

The water splashing against me my swimming instructor says "go", I swim as fast as I can, when I reach the end my instructor tells me, " you are too good for this group you can move up a level to group 2". I was jumping for joy, my goal was to get past level 1 and I did it, yay!
When I went to join Tu, Josh, Lauryn and Bradley. Lauryn said, yay because she didn't want to be the only girl in group 2 we did 2 lengths of backstroke then one length of any stroke and 1 length of any stroke (I chose freestyle), we finished first and grabbed our bags and went to get dressed. I thought it was the best swimming lesson ever!

ON the 15/10/14 our school went to Tawa Pool or Tawa School Pool. We went to Tawa pool. First we had to get changed after we got asked some questions, I was in the group 2. After we hopped out and we got dressed . It was chaos everybody was talking. Then we got to school and I wrote this story! By Logan
Splash! Swimming is awesome, I say to myself as I speed through the water. But today isn't just any awesome swimming day it's the fist day of school swimming when they choose the groups for the rest of the term. Would I make it or would I fail?
I have been put in a group already that's good news I thought..... ... another length done... at last, the lessons over.
I've finished and I've been put in the top group! Victory, exhilarating, awesome, amazing, terrific!
In the end it was an exhilarating day!
